The Dare Early College follows its own calendar, which is different from the traditional academic calendar for Dare County Schools. While holiday breaks typically line up with the regular school calendar, the key difference is that every Friday is an early dismissal. Teachers receive professional development on early dismissal days to stay up-to-date on the best teaching practices and help support students in the early college setting. 

The school year for Dare Early College starts earlier, on August 7, 2025, and concludes on May 22, 2025, providing a schedule that helps students balance both high school and college-level coursework.
